Education & Tech News to Use

Here’s an interesting list that’s worth sharing and discussing with teachers and staff. Wonder how many of our staff have at least 1/2 of these skills…..We’re at an odd time in the evolution of the Internet, because in my world, many of our professionals have certain skills regarding the tools that they regularly use. They may know every possible way to share personal (sometimes very personal) info on FB, for example, and they may regularly use it. Maybe even all day long, every day. They may not have a real understanding of the underlying  best security practices though, or they may have no idea how the tool is used extensively and effectively for professional development. Their knowledge of social media ends there. Our kids need and deserve more expertise than that in their teachers–and parents! PD is one answer, but that opens up a whole new can of worms…blocking and filtering at school that makes such PD impossible. Ah……
